Competition : RestoAction
August 5th 2026
RestorAction is a featured activity within the summer school program designed to enhance participants’ clinical skills, agility, and problem-solving abilities in the field of dentistry. This program uniquely integrates an academic competition with engaging outdoor activities. Participants will take part in a series of challenge-based games held at Ledok Sambi, Yogyakarta. Each game is designed to test teamwork, precision, and strategic thinking. Successfully completing each challenge allows participants to earn the instruments and materials required for the next stage. After collecting all necessary tools and materials, participants will proceed to the main phase: performing cavity preparation and dental restoration procedures according to standard dental practices. The final restorations will be evaluated by the committee based on criteria such as preparation accuracy, restoration quality, anatomical form, neatness, and durability. Through this activity, participants are expected not only to develop their technical competencies but also to strengthen critical thinking, adaptability under limited resources, and teamwork skills.
Competition: Suturing and Oral Presentation

Suturing
The Creative Suturing Challenge is one of the activities included in the Summer School program, designed to combine clinical skill development with an introduction to Indonesian culture. This competition is intended for international students to learn and practice basic suturing techniques while also experiencing traditional Indonesian games in an interactive and enjoyable way. In this activity, participants will be divided into several small groups and will go through a series of stations featuring traditional Indonesian games. Each station presents a specific challenge or mission that must be completed by the participants. Successfully completing a mission will reward the team with one of the materials or tools needed for the suturing activity, such as suturing threads, needles, gloves, or other equipment. After completing all the stations and collecting the required materials, participants will proceed to the final stage, the Creative Suturing Session. In this stage, participants will perform suturing using the materials they have collected and are encouraged to create unique and creative patterns or designs. Through this competition, participants are expected not only to enhance their basic suturing skills but also to gain a unique cultural experience by engaging with traditional Indonesian games. Additionally, the activity promotes teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving in a fun and competitive environment.
Oral Presentation
Oral Presentation is a scientific competition where DICE participants present their research or case studies to an international audience. Each presenters will get 10 minutes to present and 5 minutes for questions. Expert judges evaluate their scientific content, presentation skills, slides, and answers. The best presenter wins an award and all presenters get certificates. This program lets students share knowledge across countries and practice presenting in English. It's a chance to get feedback from experts, meet other dental students globally, and add something valuable to your CV. It's about building research skills, improving presentation abilities, and connecting with peers who share your passion for dentistry.
